This may be our best building transformation yet!

Our incredible volunteers, along with our Children & Family Ministry staff, and their families worked tirelessly to transform our church into Rainforest Falls for Vacation Bible School. The attention to detail is phenomenal. Every hallway, classroom, and gathering space has been filled with color, creativity, and countless handcrafted touches. As beautiful as these photos are, they don't begin to capture the imagination, artistry, and love that went into creating this experience for our children.

Perhaps the best part is that these decorations are not just for one week. When Vacation Bible School concludes, they will be donated to several smaller United Methodist churches so they can create a memorable VBS experience for their own children. What a wonderful example of faithful stewardship, creativity, and sharing God's gifts with others.

What a SUPER FUN day we had at VBS! The rain held out, for the most part, so our games were a GO! Lots of friendship, fun, singing, crafting, and learning about God’s creation! See you tomorrow!

Rainforest Falls VBS Has Begun!

What an incredible first day of Rainforest Falls Vacation Bible School! Today, children from Birmingham and Berkley First, along with families from our surrounding communities, filled our church with laughter, music, learning, and excitement as we kicked off an unforgettable week together.

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers who welcomed children, led small groups, prepared snacks and lunches, shared Bible stories, guided crafts and games, led worship, and transformed our building into a beautiful rainforest adventure. We can't wait to see what God has in store for the rest of the week!

Whatever you call it... don't come to church this Wednesday expecting Anapausis. You'll find Brian White somewhere else in a pair of giant sunglasses instead.

Due to Brian's leadership of the Vacation Bible School band this week (yes, the giant sunglasses are part of the job description), Anapausis will not meet on Wednesday, June 17.

We'll be back to our regularly scheduled worship on Wednesday, July 15, at 6:30 p.m. Until then, keep Brian in your prayers as he helps lead an unforgettable week of VBS, and we'll see you next month!

It has been a full morning of welcoming new faces and offering heartfelt farewells at Birmingham & Berkley First.

Today marked Pastor Sarah Alexander’s final staff meeting with us, and we took time to express our gratitude for her faithful ministry and leadership. We also welcomed our summer ministry interns, Angela Montgomery and Gabriel Ervin, and were delighted to have Pastor Elizabeth Hurd join us ahead of her July 1 start date. Adding to the celebration, we wished Karen Mobley the happiest of birthdays!

Following the meeting, staff gathered for lunch to honor Karen Murphy as she transitions from her role as Development Officer into a volunteer leadership role with the Endowment Committee. We are deeply grateful for Karen and look forward to the ways she will continue to support the ministry of Birmingham & Berkley First in this new chapter.
