This was not the way I wanted to end the year. Went all the way to Birmingham to get two practice sessions two days apart.

Went out at 8:00am for the first 600 practice today and asked a little too much of my rubber at 48 degrees. Tucked the front in the last corner a few laps in, and I was down before I had any idea what happened.

Bike isn’t super bad aside from the gravel damage (if you know, you know) and was fixable on site with spares. Problem was I cracked a couple ribs and ground a nice hole in my thumb where my glove ripped and I just can’t work around that at race pace for the rest of the weekend.

Super disappointing. Probably an understatement. Not a great way to go into the off-season but that’s how the game works.

Ready to go at the 51st WERA Motorcycle Roadracing Grand National Finals at Barber Motorsports Park… got a day of practice to shape up before the weekend sprint races!

I haven't posted onboard video in quite a while so here we go. Not a lot of riders in A-Group for this event, so while the pace was down a little bit this session had the most happening. Things get a little interesting from 2:20-onwards.

Some new fancy farkles for the race rig from Lightech Racing and IOneMoto. Wanted to keep the captive rear caliper bracket with new Lightech adjusters, and I haven’t seen it tried before. I’m sure it’s been done, but I had to wing it. Came out just fine with some careful translation and drill/taps, and added some GP lifters to make transport just a tad easier. Pretty happy with it.
