Week in Review: July 25 – July 31, 2026

This week, Rocky Ridge Fire District responded to 66 alarms.

A couple of our on-duty members had the opportunity to attend church services on Sunday. Throughout the week, members also worked with our apparatus and equipment to ensure they remain in a constant state of operational readiness.

Chief Bartlett attended the BREMSS Quarterly Executive Board Meeting. Despite the summer heat, our crews continued to dedicate time to physical fitness, training, and maintaining the skills necessary to serve our community.

Week in Review: July 18 – July 24, 2026

This week, Rocky Ridge Fire District responded to 71 alarms.

We are blessed to have so many churches within our district, and it is always encouraging when our on-duty members have the opportunity to attend services between emergency calls.

A special thank you to Representative Mike Shaw, who personally stopped by to present a grant check in support of our Training Division. We sincerely appreciate his continued investment in firefighter training and public safety.

Even in the summer heat, our members remain committed to staying prepared. Crews spent time exercising, training, and sharpening their skills. On Friday, Dr. Duerring, our Medical Director, conducted EMS case reviews and training with our crews.

Members also spent time throughout the week working with our apparatus, special operations equipment, and boats to ensure they remain fully ready for service whenever needed.

Rocky Ridge Fire District
Week in Review: July 11 – July 17, 2026

This week, the Rocky Ridge Fire District responded to 62 alarms.

Members trained on attack line deployment and hose stream operations. Lieutenant Laney also conducted SCBA mask fit testing for several of our newer members.

Firemedic Lanier attended an Aerial Operator certification course at the Alabama Fire College. Station 2 hosted CPAT certification testing for 27 candidates.

Chief Currie attended an Advanced Cardiac Resuscitation course hosted by Hoover Fire Department. He also completed a pipeline safety class.

Week in Review: July 4 – July 10, 2026

This week, Rocky Ridge Fire District responded to 74 alarms.

Dr. Duerring conducted in-service training on the operation of our new Sapphire IV infusion pumps. On Monday, Chief Lord attended the monthly Jefferson County Association of Fire Departments meeting. On Thursday, Chief Bartlett attended the Shelby County Fire and EMS Association meeting.

Construction continues to progress on our new apparatus bay building at the drill field.

Crews spent time orienting several of our newer members on attack hose line deployment. Throughout the week, members also worked to ensure all of our apparatus and equipment remain in excellent condition and ready for service when needed.

Week in Review: June 27 – July 3, 2026

This week, Rocky Ridge Fire District responded to 78 alarms. It was another busy week as our call volume remained high and the summer heatwave continued.

Construction of our new apparatus bay building at the drill field continues to make great progress. On Wednesday, Chiefs Lord, Bartlett, and Baker attended the monthly Central Alabama Fire Chiefs Association (CAFCA) meeting.

Members spent time throughout the week training with our engines, transport units, aerial apparatus, and special operations equipment to ensure everything remains in a constant state of operational readiness. we also did some inside painting this week.

We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July weekend as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence!

On Monday, we celebrated Susan’s birthday in administration. Also, Station 2 hosted CPAT certification testing for several candidates.

Our apparatus bay building project at the drill field is continuing to show progress. Members spent time throughout the week working with our apparatus and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
