Hey! We’re hosting our next pop-up market at The Harriman Park Recreation center Saturday, June 13th!
Pop-up markets are our way to bring fresh produce, clothing, and essentials to individuals facing food insecurity due to the impacts of neighborhood pollution.
To pull this off we’re looking for committed volunteers that want to make a difference in our communities.
If you are available June 13th please sign up at gaspgroup.org/volunteer . We can’t wait to see you there!

Pride is a month dedicated to equality. At GASP, we believe that everyone deserves the right to clean air no matter their ZIP code, race, economic background, or sexual orientation.
It is widely known that minority groups such as the LGBTQIA+ community face disproportionate adversities, including environmental injustices. That is why we celebrate Pride: to remind ourselves that the fight for equality extends beyond legislation and representation. It includes access to healthy communities, safe housing, clean air, and the opportunity for all people to thrive.
As we celebrate Pride this month, we reaffirm our commitment to building a future where every person can live, work, play, and breathe free from pollution and discrimination.
Happy Pride Month! 🌈

We’re 1 week away from our second installment of Justice in the Margins!
We’ve created an open and free space to talk about intersectional climate issues and explore different ideas and perspectives on how to reach the climate solutions our communities need.
This time, we’re reading Climate Change is Racist by Jeremy Williams to kick off these conversations.

Primary Elections are TODAY!
As a part of our civic engagement work we put together a comprehensive voting guide for St. Clair County.
We focused on St. Clair because environmental justice issues made by local leadership in surrounding communities directly impacts air quality, public health, economic development, and the future of Alabama.
You can view the full guide here: https://heyzine.com/flip-book/f028e8a5a8.html to get vital information on who’s running as county commissioner and district representatives.
Don’t let your vote go to waste!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!: Saturday May 16th, we’re hosting a free pop-up market for the Acipco-Finley neighborhood. We will be hosting at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church to provide fresh food, non-perishable items, and clothing to those most impacted by industrial pollution.
To ensure everything goes smoothly we need YOUR help! We are looking for a few more dedicated volunteers to help set up our market, hand out items and clean up afterwards.
Volunteers are expected to show up at 7:30 AM to assist with set-up. Pop-up markets go by quickly so we are advising everyone attending to be on time!

Alabama is one of the most biodiverse states in the country. We have almost 7,000 species and 5 million people who all deserve to breathe clean, healthy air.
When we say "Happy Earth Day" we are bringing attention to the importance of our health, ecosystems, and our future. This is how we advocate.
Our Earth is something worth fighting for and our people have a duty to advocate for it. Remember to tell your neighbor Happy Earth Day and show your love for our home. 🌤️
