Dr. Kimbrough is a nationally recognized leader in higher education. A native of Atlanta, he earned degrees from the University of Georgia, Miami University in Ohio and a doctorate in higher education from Georgia State University. Dr. Kimbrough has served as president of Philander Smith College, Dillard University and interim president of Talladega College. He is a noted scholar on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), African American men in college, and fraternity and sorority life, as well as a national voice on free speech in higher education. Dr. Kimbrough has been recognized by outlets such as Education Dive, The Best Schools, and College Cliffs, and was appointed by President Joe Biden to the President’s Board of Advisors on HBCUs.
We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Kimbrough to Birmingham and can’t wait to hear his insights on the future of HBCUs.
