We're hiring a Fleet Coordinator!

This role keeps the operational backbone of Gridco running. From maintenance coordination and recordkeeping to compliance and vendor partnerships, the Fleet Coordinator works across departments to make sure our vehicles are where they need to be, ready to work.

If you're organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-moving environment, we'd like to hear from you.

The crews who build the grid are the same people who show up for their communities.

None of what we do is possible without our crew out there every day doing the work. The infrastructure keeping schools and hospitals and homes running doesn't happen on its own. It's built by people who show up in all kinds of conditions and take pride in getting it right. It’s built by you.

A lot of those same people are working in the towns where they live, where their kids go to school, where their families are. That connection changes how you approach the job.

We're still a young company. But the people representing Gridco in the field every day are already proving that this work is about a lot more than the job site.

We don't take that for granted.

First of its kind for us, and the team delivered.

Gridco recently completed its first 46kV underground terminations. Underground terminations at this voltage require precision, proper training, and zero margin for error. The stakes are high, and so are the safety requirements.

Our crews knew that going in. What they brought to this job is the same thing they bring to every job: the discipline to do it right, and the experience to know what right looks like.

That's a milestone worth being proud of.

We're continuing our June Spotlight Series with someone who leads transmission crews for Gridco and recently reminded everyone around him what kind of person he is.

Cory McMichael is a Transmission General Foreman from Jasper County, Georgia. On the job, he leads with precision and holds his crews to a standard that transmission work demands. Off the job, he's built something most people never attempt.

Years ago, Cory started a nonprofit go-kart track in his dad's backyard in a small two-red-light town. What started as a place for friends to race and have fun grew into something much bigger. MKR Monticello Kart Racing is now a 501(c)(3), the only nonprofit racetrack in the state of Georgia. Every dollar that comes through the gate goes back out to people in need. The track has become a place where families show up together, kids put their phones down, and the community finds a reason to gather.

One of those families was a young man named Kaden, who grew up at the track. When he lost his only vehicle in a wreck, Cory worked alongside Jack Carter and people in his community to get him a car so he could keep getting to school and work.

Cory didn't tell that story for recognition. He told it because it explains why he does what he does.

"At the end of the day, when I lay down at night, it's just such a great feeling to take a little burden off of somebody."

That's the culture we're building at Gridco. People who show up for others whether anyone's watching or not.

That kind of character doesn't stay in one place — it shows up on the job site, in the community, and in the people around him. We're proud to have Cory on this team and grateful he brings all of who he is to the work.

Welcome back to our Spotlight Series.

To close out the month of May, we want to recognize someone you may have already seen showing up across the industry this month.

Jacob Millwood has been part of Gridco's foundation from early on, helping build the business development and customer success functions that define how we show up for utility partners. His approach isn't just about landing work. It's about staying close to the customer once the work starts. Understanding the warehouse, the coordinators, the expectations on the ground. Making sure the relationship is solid before a problem has a chance to surface.

If you've been following along this month, you've seen Jacob at DTECH in Scottsdale, the Georgia EMC Engineering Association Meeting on St. Simons Island, and the EEI Supplier Engagement Conference in Philadelphia. That's not coincidence. That's who Jacob is.

The relationships Jacob builds don't start and end at a conference. They carry into every project, every crew, every customer we work alongside. That's the kind of presence that moves this company forward.

One thing our utility partners pick up on pretty quickly: our crews communicate.

Not just with each other on site, but with the customer. The foreman knows the coordinator. The general foreman knows the project expectations. When something comes up, we're not waiting to be told. We've already spotted it and we're bringing options to the table.

That starts with the kind of people we bring on. Linemen who've been around long enough to understand what a utility actually needs from a contractor. Foremen who care about every job like their name is on it.

Because it is.

Line work is not a job most people would choose. The hours are long, the conditions are unpredictable, and the work demands your full attention every single day.

It takes a certain kind of person to show up for that. We don't take that for granted.

What we can control is the environment we build around those people. New equipment. Honest leadership. A culture where you're not a number. Where the guy next to you has been doing this for years and actually wants to see you get better.

That's what we're building at Gridco. And we're grateful every day for the people who choose to be part of it.

Outage windows keep getting smaller, and utilities still need the work done.

What used to be a two-week outage is now two days. What used to be two days is now two hours. Our substation crews are certified to work inside substations with adjacent equipment energized, breaker changeouts, switch replacements, CT and PT swaps, equipment reconfigurations, all without requiring a full outage to get there.

It takes experienced linemen and foremen who understand exactly what's live, what's at stake, and how to move through that environment safely and efficiently. That's not something you figure out on the job. It's built over years of doing the work.

It's some of the most technically demanding work we do, and our crews don't take that lightly.

We’re happy to share photos from our team at the Georgia Power Rabbitown Substation Project last month!
