Today is Melanoma Monday!

Your skin is your body’s largest organ, and one of the most important to monitor. A yearly skin cancer screening allows for the early detection of abnormalities, including melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers, when they are most treatable. Many skin cancers develop without noticeable symptoms, which makes routine professional exams essential, even if nothing looks concerning to you.

Scheduling an annual skin cancer screening with a dermatology provider ensures any new or changing spots are evaluated promptly. If you have a history of sun exposure, tanning bed use, or a personal or family history of skin cancer, these screenings are especially important. Early detection truly saves lives, making your yearly skin check a simple step that can have a lasting impact on your health.
