is it really Christmas if there’s only one photo of you and 17362 of your children?
anyway, merry christmas eve from our little family of four x
PLACES, PEOPLE! PLACES!!
The context 👉 I had decided to come off the pill after 8 years in it and bought an Oura ring to start cycle tracking instead. My Oura ring warned me to use protection for the first 3-6 months whilst it got to know my cycles and since I had just come off the pill, my cycles weren’t exactly regular yet. On month 3, just after my 24th birthday and right before Christmas, I found out I was pregnant with my first baby completely unplanned. We were engaged at the time and our wedding was planned for the following summer. We ended up postponing that for a year because my due date fell 3 weeks after our wedding date.
Now, 3 years later, we are a family of four and I would not change a single thing!

Whenever I have my last baby, I will be following these rules SO strictly.
Since I had both babies unexpectedly and close together, I felt like I wasn’t as prepared for each maternity leave as I’d have liked and I’m so fortunate that my husband was able to hold the fort down whilst I found my feet again.
But as an independent, self-employed girlie, it has been so tough learning to depend on others and let go of a sense of control. Not to mention to feel so unsure of myself for the first time ever. I was ALWAYS the kind of girl who knew what she wanted and made it happen. So maternity leave was the most wonderful yet destabilising period because I felt like I could plan further than 24 hours with routines constantly changing.
Now I know and I plan to not only be more prepared for my next mat leave but to also try support more self-employed SAHMs!

our first child-free weekend since having our eldest and I’d say we spent it very well
i’m still figuring out my best angles ok??
Pt. 1 of the kitchen redeco series!
This has taken me 2-3 weeks of prepping all surfaces and then the last 2 weeks priming, painting and sealing the walls and countertops. I could have maybe done it faster but with a spicy audiobook in my ears, you can bet I’ve had to take many breaks standing in front of the freezer.
Now that I’ve sealed the countertops, I can move on to the floors which I am so excited for!!
Then I’ll do the cabinets last because I want to see how much lighter the room feels before choosing a final colour!
