It’s been a while. Funny thing is I was planning all week to work on a series from some of my vacation photos. Instead when I finally sat down I decided to do a quick painting of Roy Roo Orbison.

Feels like ages ago I bought a bunch of palette knives. Decided to play around with them a bit. Not as easy as one would think.

Wow. It’s been over 9 months since I painted anything. Of course it’s been about that long since we had snow. Friendsgiving was scrapped thanks to the weather but it did give me the opportunity to get some time in the studio. Acrylic on canvas 8x8.

Been too busy to do a lot of creating. Instead I’ve been growing things. A while back I was picking up some supplies and walked out with two cuttings from Sara. One is still struggling after my cat chewed on it (he didn’t eat it). This one is really doing well. I’ve never propagated a plant before and I tend to kill houseplants (RIP staghorn fern).

Yesterday I stopped in for some palette knives because I really enjoyed my Square Butte painting. My selection being limited thought I should pick up a few more options should the mood strike. Art’s has a lovely window front display of plants which I was admiring before I even walked in. Turns out she had a couple cuttings from her Begonia to give me and so I thought I’d see if I could propagate them. I already had one that didn’t make it but these two perked up today.

Second loaf or art. Definitely looks better.

Baking is an art, right? First loaf ever. Not the most beautiful but it tastes good.

I’m so tired of winter. This is what it looks like outside today.
