Today, the Family Tree Nurturing Center family joins our community in celebrating Juneteenth, a profound day of reflection, freedom, and joy. As we honor the end of slavery in the United States, we are reminded that the roots of true freedom, equity, and belonging begin in early childhood.

Why does Juneteenth matter for us? 🌳👶🏽👧🏻👦🏾

At its core, Juneteenth is a celebration of human dignity. In our classrooms and care spaces, we believe that nurturing diversity and equity isn't just a policy, it’s a daily practice. When we teach our youngest learners to love their own identity and fiercely respect the unique stories of others, we are actively building the inclusive future our ancestors fought for.

How we cultivate equity and belonging every day:

* Diverse Representation: Ensuring every child sees themselves reflected in our books, toys, and leadership.

* Inclusive Environments: Creating safe spaces where every family’s heritage is celebrated and woven into our daily learning.

* Empathy from the Start: Helping toddlers and preschoolers understand fairness, kindness, and community unity through play and storytelling.

By Honoring History, we are Building Inclusive Futures. Today, we celebrate the resilience, culture, and immense contributions of the Black community, and we recommit ourselves to nurturing a world where every single child can thrive, completely free to be themselves.

Our young ones made remarkable Mother's Day bags for the special mother figures in their lives.

To all mother figures in these kiddos lives, 'The values of kindness, patience, and love that you've instilled in your children are a constant source of inspiration, and we're thankful for the chance to experience them.'

💛 A heartfelt thank you to Keri Renae and her incredible family.

When a child came into their home carrying challenges that would have given many families pause, Keri and her family opened their arms without hesitation. What followed was nothing short of extraordinary, they stood by this little one through major surgeries, celebrated milestones that no one thought possible, and gave him something every child deserves: a safe place to heal, to grow, and to be loved.

They didn't just foster, they poured themselves into this child, day after day, in ways that words can barely capture. Their commitment to his well-being, their patience, their compassion, and their willingness to put his needs above all else have left a mark on his life that will never fade.

Reunification with biological family is one of the most bittersweet chapters in the foster care journey, and navigating it with grace, love, and selflessness the way this family has done is something truly rare. We do not have enough words to honor what you have walked through and what you have given.
