Just a fun feel good story about a little horse from Montana. Larry Mayer, the man behind the lens, is a beloved community photographer. The Blains are also huge supporters of our community and were very instrumental in making our first Yellowstone County Sheriff's helicopter happen. Needless to say it has been crucial in saving many, not just sweet little horses stuck in the river.
Our photographer Larry Mayer got this shot of the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office Air One, flown by Gary Blain, lifting a horse that was stranded on a gravel bar in the Yellowstone River this morning.

Cheyenne Glade Wilson posted this and it is so moving we had to share on this day marked to bring Awareness to MMIP.
We are thankful for our many partners and those we don't know working to put an end to countless missing and murdered indigenous people... sadly, many who are being trafficked. In a perfect world it would end, but we can make it a better world by joining together to educate our communities, supporting those in the fight, and helping survivors in healing. โค๏ธโ๐ฉน (Thank you for sharing Cheyenne!)
Today, we remember. We honor. We demand justice.
May 5th is Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons Dayโa solemn reminder that too many Native women, men, and children are still missing. Too many families are left without answers. Too many voices have been silenced.
As Native people, we carry the pain of our ancestors and the weight of our missing sisters and brothers. But we also carry strength. We carry resilience. We carry a fire that cannot be extinguished.
I stand today not only as The Native Cowgirl, but as a daughter of this land, committed to raising awareness, speaking their names, and fighting for change.
We will not forget. We will not be silent.
