My name is Daun Garrett yoga sessions for groups/individuals Insured 300 Hr. Certified Yoga Teacher, Certificate of Completion Yoga Anatomy, CPR/AED Certified.

My experience includes teaching on a collegiate level. Teaching College Athletes(Baseball, Basketball, Softball & Cheer), & General students. I also taught yoga to high school Athletes (Baseball and Golf).

A clinical trial found yoga cut insomnia, fatigue and mood disturbances in cancer survivors compared to standard care alone.

The NCI-funded study tracked 206 survivors who practiced hatha and restorative yoga about 180 minutes weekly over four weeks.

Researchers called it a non-pharmaceutical solution for reducing four side effects at once.

SWCD’s Yoga Event gave students a chance to relax, connect, and focus on their well-being alongside friends and classmates. Events like these are a reminder that student success is about more than academics—it’s also about creating a supportive community that cares about mental health and balance.

Taking care of yourself is important, and at SWCD, students are encouraged to do both: work hard and make time to breathe.
