Manny's Janitorial Service is seeking experienced part-time janitorial cleaners. Ideal candidates should demonstrate dependability, responsibility, self-motivation, and attention to detail. Reliable transportation is required. Work schedules commence after 5:00pm, with varying days and hours. Positions are located in Big Spring. Refuge from the Cold offered at The Y

BIG SPRING, TX – A cold front is set to come through Howard County this weekend. The Big Spring YMCA, also known as The Y, located at 801 Owens, will be offering a refuge from the cold on Sunday and Monday night. This is available to anyone who is needing a warm place to sleep and security will be held throughout the night, but it is only available for the first 30 people.

According to Dathan Jones, CEO of The Y, no reservations will be taken and this is a first come first serve type of situation. The intake for those who will use this shelter will be from 8 to 9 PM and they can stay through 8 AM the next morning. The Y will be able to provide cots, blankets, and some pillows. Anyone who has extra pillows and blankets are welcome to drop them off at The Y.

Although people will be able to stay overnight through the inclement weather, be advised this is not considered an emergency shelter because The Y does not have generators if the power goes out.
