The GapTracks Project
Documenting the wildlife community in the GAP of the Eastern Trail and Nonesuch River before, during and after trail construction.
This project is run by Dr. Noah Perlut and his students in the School of Marine and Environmental Programs, University of New England. They use remote cameras to study the wildlife community along the GAP section of the Eastern Trail and Nonesuch River—evaluating the current wildlife community (begun in Feb 2017), the community during trail construction, and the community after trail construction

5 BEAUTIES
Up close and personal!
Fittingly noted by a GapTracks researcher--"Check out this sassy doe stomping her feet."
Remarkably little is known about fishers--admittadly difficult to see, this video shows a fisher pair moving through the GapTracks landscape together on Feb 26. One behavior that is well known--but poorly understood--is that fisher LOVE to saunter across logs, as seen in this video.
Another view of this sweet coyote pair. Den must be nearby!
Coyote pair out for a jog on the new Eastern Trail
Clear bonding by these two coyotes.
