The Biddeford School Department is proud to be one of seven Maine districts selected to participate in the SHAW Challenge in partnership with MaineHealth, an initiative focused on strengthening youth mental health through evidence-based prevention and wellness strategies. Through the four-year initiative, the district will receive $10,000 annually for implementation, and we recently celebrated an exciting kickoff opportunity as 20 Biddeford Intermediate School students attended a Portland Hearts of Pine match, launching what will become ongoing student connection and social-emotional learning opportunities through this partnership. Classmates cheered on their special olympians yesterday as they boarded busses for a day of fun!

Every school day, Biddeford, S**o, and Dayton school buses travel thousands of miles through our neighborhoods—carrying our most precious passengers. Bus safety is a shared responsibility. We’re proud to partner with our Transportation Teams and Police Departments to remind everyone: Stop means stop. A few seconds can save a life.
