Rousseau has been a family business in Biddeford for three generations. We grew up around it, and today the two of us run it together, Emily on the commercial side and Matt on the personal side.

Stepping into that role, we could have just kept things the way they had always been. Instead we did the work on purpose, defining what the agency stands for, our mission, our vision, and the values our team lives by, so that whoever you reach here, you get the same Rousseau.

It all comes back to one idea we inherited and still believe. Insurance should be designed around you, built to fit the life you actually live, by people who know your name.

This month's spotlight introduces Mikaela Paradis, our Commercial Lines Manager. Mikaela joined the agency in 2021 with a background in commercial insurance. Originally from Farmington, she graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Business Administration. In her role, she works closely with the commercial team on policy placement and client coverage strategy.

Rousseau Insurance is a third generation family business. Our grandparents opened its doors in a Biddeford home in 1959, with a simple goal: to support neighbors and local businesses with honest guidance. Today, we are still rooted in this community, now as a modern local agency on Elm Street. Our tools and surroundings have evolved, but the heart of our work has stayed the same: clear advice, responsive service, and genuine care for the people who rely on us.

This month, we are marking three team milestones at Rousseau Insurance. Emily Archer and Joshua Parsons each mark two years with the agency, and Gina Boudreau marks nine years.

Emily works on our personal lines team, assisting individuals and families with auto, home, and other personal coverage needs. Joshua also supports our personal lines clients, working with them as they review coverage options. Gina works across both personal and commercial lines, assisting clients with coverage for their homes, vehicles, and businesses.

Our team recently had the chance to celebrate a big moment for our own Emily Pelletier, who is expecting twins this fall. As a surprise, the team gathered to put together a sprinkle in her honor, complete with decorations, treats, and books to help start Summer and Connor's little library.

Congratulations, Emily. We are so happy for you and cannot wait to meet Summer and Connor this fall.

Last Friday, we closed the office for our Employee Appreciation Day and spent it together on Little Ossipee. Boat rides, tubes floating around, and a great spread catered by Mac's BBQ. Thank you to this team for everything you do all year. We are lucky to work with these people.

This month, we're recognizing Cheryl Picard, one of the longest-standing members of the Rousseau Insurance team.

Cheryl joined Rousseau in 1991 as a part-time file clerk. She later stepped into a full-time role as a Personal Lines Account Manager, a position she continues to hold today.

For more than three decades, Cheryl has worked alongside local individuals and families with their auto, home, and other personal insurance. She answers client questions, walks through coverage options, and helps clients make decisions with clear information in hand.

A Biddeford resident herself, Cheryl works with clients and neighbors she has known for years. We are grateful to have her on our team.

Earlier this month, we shared that Rousseau Insurance had been voted Best Insurance Agency in Biddeford and S**o for the 29th year in a row. Recognition like this comes from neighbors, clients, and local residents, and for an agency that has served this community for generations, it means a great deal.
