This month we are marking two team milestones at Rousseau. Travis Rand reaches four years with the agency, and Christy Kennedy reaches three years.

Travis works on our personal lines team, helping individuals and families with their auto, home, and other personal coverage. Christy works on our commercial lines team, supporting business owners across Southern Maine as their operations grow and change. Both have become familiar voices for the clients they work with, and we are glad to mark another year with each of them.

For more than 65 years, we have built our agency on trusted relationships, practical advice, and a commitment to the communities we serve.

Today, that legacy continues with two third-generation leaders helping guide our next chapter. Matt Rousseau leads our personal insurance division, while Emily Pelletier leads our commercial insurance division.

Together, they are helping shape the future of the same agency the Rousseau family founded in Biddeford in 1959. Their focus is steady, disciplined growth across Southern Maine, strengthening relationships with clients, supporting local businesses and families, and building on the trust that has defined Rousseau for generations.

Sixty-five years in. Just getting started

Today we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Memorial Day is a time for reflection, gratitude, and respect for the sacrifice made by so many. From all of us at Rousseau Insurance, we wish you a meaningful Memorial Day.

A few weeks back, we shared that Rousseau Insurance Agency received the 2026 Liberty Mutual President's Award for Commercial Lines. We wanted to add some context to what that recognition reflects.

Liberty Mutual has been one of our top carrier partners for 13 years. A relationship that long gives our team a deep understanding of the carrier, and gives the carrier a deep understanding of our agency. Both of those translate into a better experience for the business owners we serve across York County, Cumberland County, and the rest of Southern Maine.

Emily Pelletier, one of our principals and Vice President of Commercial Lines, is part of why that partnership has stayed strong. She is a member of Liberty Mutual's Agent Advisory Council, a regional forum that brings independent agents from across the Northeast together for direct conversations with Liberty Mutual leadership. That seat at the table keeps Maine perspective in front of one of our most important carrier partners and brings real insights back to our clients.

Travis Rand joined Rousseau Insurance in 2022 as a Personal Lines Account Manager, bringing experience across both personal and commercial insurance. Raised in Portland and a graduate of the University of Southern Maine, he’s known for his clear, approachable communication style that helps clients feel informed and supported as they sort through their coverage options.

At Rousseau, we value clear conversations and thoughtful guidance, and Travis brings that approach to every client interaction. Outside the office, he enjoys catching the latest movie releases, watching sports with his family, and spending time at camp with his golden retriever, Nova.

We're excited to welcome Michele Tobias to Rousseau Insurance as our newest Personal Lines Account Manager. Michele has spent her career in personal insurance, working as an agent and office manager before joining our team.

A Gorham, Maine native, she is looking forward to building relationships with Rousseau clients and working alongside our agency.

Outside the office, Michele enjoys cooking, traveling, motorsports, and working in the yard. This summer, she is especially looking forward to time on the lakes with her family and their new boat.

Debra brought decades of experience in the insurance industry, along with a thoughtful and steady presence that has been valued by both our clients and our team. Her approach reflects a consistent level of care and professionalism, and she has played an important role in supporting those around her.

We are grateful for the knowledge she has shared and the consistency she has brought to her work. It was meaningful to take time as a team to recognize this milestone and her contributions to our agency.
