Organize.Then.Breathe

We've got another month before we can (possibly) move around freely. Lots of time to reflect on those material items we surround ourselves with and sort out the unnecessary. Pare down. Focus on the necessary.

So it's almost January 1 and time to organize. Get to the local box store and buy some containers while they're on sale. Get those holiday decorations put away neatly and don't go another year with a pile of bags and boxes holding your family treasures. Organizational storage is money well spent!

Here's one from my mom - at the end of winter coat season, place your gloves into the pockets of the coat they match. Never lose your gloves again!

Save money by organizing our kitchen cupboards. You'll see what you have and stop buying the same spices over and over. Don't tell you there aren't 3 cinnamon tins in your cupboard!

Old craft goods you aren't using (and never will, you know it) - gather them and drop them to your local school art teacher. It's an easy way to give back.

It's Summer so that means it's the perfect time to go into the basement and get rid of all those extra Christmas decorations. Give them to a thrift for Christmas in July! It'll take you just a few minutes.

One thing. Get rid of just one thing a week. Imagine 52 weeks later!

Christmas in July. Why not pack up those things you don't use and gift them to a shelter? Call ahead and see if they need clothing so someone in need benefits from your closet.
