What a beautiful day for a cleanup on Wisteria Drive!!

28 volunteers, ~30 bags of trash, a grill, a fire extinguisher, two chairs, a suitcase, and a tire/rim, among other large objects.

Whether you gave an hour or showed up week after week, every contribution mattered.

Because of you:
✨ Over 2,000 Summer Fun sacks were distributed
📚 Each sack included 2–4 books
🎨 Thousands of arts & crafts items were packed
🤝 New partnerships helped us reach even more children
You assembled kits, packed sacks, wrote “Happy Summer” notes, organized books, and helped bring joy to thousands of children across our community.

Special thanks to the Bender JCC of Greater Washington for five years of generous support—your partnership makes this project possible year after year.

Today we were reminded that technology donations are about so much more than devices.

The KindWorks Digital Empowerment Program picked up donated computers from Coforma (https://coforma.io/) computers that will soon become tools for learning, job searching, workforce training, communication, and new beginnings.

During our visit, Coforma founder Eduardo Ortiz was being honored by the SBA, with recognition focused on innovation, intentionality, and philanthropy.

Before we left, Eduardo, a former Marine, shared a Marine Corps challenge coin with us. The coin included two phrases that deeply resonated with our team:

“Let’s make something that matters together.”
“Impactful innovation.”

We couldn’t think of a better description of what happens when organizations come together to create opportunity for others.
