Not our typical type of job, but we’re really proud to have contributed interpretive and environmental design expertise to the Mason-Dixon/Arc Corner Heritage Interpretation and Connectivity Plan! The team at Miller Designworks helped shape a Mason-Dixon/Arc Corner Identity as well as create a unified story-telling framework that connects history, heritage, landscape, science, and community across township lines. Our team at Miller Designworks helped shape a Mason-Dixon/Arc Corner Identity as well as create a unified storytelling framework that connects history, heritage, landscape, science, and community across township lines.

From site analysis and 3D LIDAR scanning to interpretive design and wayfinding recommendations, we worked with a task force of contributing consultants led by Brandywine Conservancy. The goal was to develop a strategic roadmap that would strengthen visitor experience, improve connectivity, and honor one of America’s most iconic historic boundaries.

It was exciting to get to do the site visits and see actual Mason-Dixon markers for the line, including LIDAR scanning a crown marker indicating a five-mile point on the line. The science involved and the sheer force of will it took to complete this survey task were impressive to learn about, and we are fortunate to have the results of it right in our backyard.

This project isn’t just about signage and graphic panels; it’s about creating a shared identity and a cohesive heritage experience that communities can build on for generations.
We’re excited to see this vision move toward implementation in the contributing Chester County townships!

Go Big or Go Home! And in my case, since our studio is virtual, I can do both.
This is what happens when my 27 year old son, Mason, visits on his snowy birthday. Mason, who works as a mason, had a day off due to the snow, so he broke out his trowels and practiced his stucco skill with snow. Needless to say, a 12 foot snowman in the front yard certainly draws attention (and selfies and smiles).
So whatever you do, in work or daily life, do it big, do it different and be positive - put a smile on someone's face.

Our good friends at Chester County's Brandywine Valley give a great speed tour here of the Kennett Heritage Center. We are so proud to have been able to do all the interpretive and environmental graphics for the center, including the Kennett Underground Railroad Center room. If you're in the area and feeling a little housebound, we recommend paying them a visit to learn more about our area's fascinating heritage and history.

A great tour by Michelle Cope of the new Chester County's Brandywine Valley Welcome Center that we designed, created, and managed the build-out for them. We love to see old spaces like this historic Courthouse building put to creative and positive reuse. We were so excited to tackle this big project for them, stop in and take a look if you are near West Chester!
