Hi friends,
If you haven't seen it yet, the 2nd new and improved Go Pro in VO training video is up and ready to view.
This one's all about the best gear to use as a home-based voiceover artist:
https://bit.ly/voh24
Years ago, when I first started learning about this stuff, I remember being floored by the sheer affordability of it.
It was an epiphany to learn I could get Hollywood-grade results with such budget-friendly equipment (and with some strategically placed sound 'softening' items—pillows, clothes, books, etc).
To this day, I use the same gear and sound techniques I've learned from David to get studio-quality audio, almost anywhere.
I've recorded auditions and jobs in closets, in cars, in hotel rooms, in bedrooms, in offices...
And the little-known secret is this:
It doesn't matter what your setup looks like or how much it costs.
When the results are exceptional, that's all that matters (and it's all your clients care about anyway!).
David teaches us all that and more in the video.
(Another golden nugget highlighted in this training: David's workflow 'hack' that will save you weeks' worth of tedious editing labor—literally. It certainly has for me, all the way back to my days producing Inside Acting.)
Anyway, there's a lot of high-level intel here, and I'm curious to hear your thoughts.
How is all this landing? Exciting? Overwhelming? Let me know!
You can also pose a question directly to David on the video page—and he'll respond!
Success loves speed,
Trev

Starting this coming Monday, August 5th, at 6:30pm EST, I’ll be hosting a free, open door Zoom session once a month.
It’s called Diaper Club.
Diaper Club is a free monthly virtual get-sh*t-done work gathering. It’s an appointment with yourself, your “NUI” (Non-Urgent / Important) work, and a handful of other awesome folks doing the same.
It’s a co-working session, but better. And it’s 100% free. No gimmicks, no shenanigans, no surprise sales pitch.
Here’s How It Works
It’ll run about 90 minutes. We’ll kick things off with a “thought lozenge”—a concept, quote, or idea to set the tone. You’ll also have the opportunity to briefly “declare and share” what you’ll be working on or would like to complete during the session.
Then, we work.
I’ll put a timer on the screen. Everyone will mute their microphones. I’ll spin some low-key focus tunes. And we’ll all put some quality time into our “legacy projects”—together.
There will be a short break halfway through to chat, grab a bevvy, and stretch, and there will be a few minutes at the end to share victories. Then, we’ll call it a night.
Simple, Powerful, Fun
The first session is happening Monday, August 5th, from 6:30pm - 8pm EST.
It’s 100% free, but you’ll need to register here (or via the Diaper Club link in my bio):

If you’ve been struggling to make time to do the stuff you actually want to be doing, this might help!
Hope to see you there!

Sadly, the kind soul and temporary home for our two sweet older cats fell through. So we’re back on the search, and time is really tight. We’ll do anything to not give them up for adoption at a shelter. If you previously sent me some options or resources, could you kindly re-send? Thank you so much 🙏🏻❤️

Hi all—big news! We’re moving! To Philadelphia! Next month! Like, in 30 days! Dear God!
But we need an angel. This is the toughest part.
We have two wonderful cats—Maya and Xyra, ages 12 and 14—that aren't able to make the initial trip out with us.
We're looking for a generous and loving soul in Los Angeles who can take our girls in for a bit. Not forever, but for about 6 months.
They're indoor cats, have been wonderful with baby B, but have not been tested with other cats, or with dogs.
We can offer a monthly stipend to cover their food and litter. Our plan is to fly back out to LA to visit E's family in March or April, then bring the cats back to Philly with us, once we have our own place. Our ideal person will be able to be at home with the girls fairly frequently, and has experience with pets or pet-sitting.
Do you know of anyone who might be available for this? Or resources we could look to for kind, qualified, compassionate people? They don't need to be super local to Los Angeles. Even an hour or two outside the city is okay.
We'd be massively grateful for any connections or guidance you can offer. We're running out of time and options. I don't want to think about what will happen if we can't find them a temporary home.
Photos of the girls below. Thank you in advance. Please feel free to share this far and wide with your circle of awesome people.
I’ll leave this post up until we’ve found the perfect person. Thank you in advance 🙏🏻

Unbelievable that our little man has been in the world for a year now. It still feels like we’ve both just met him and also known him forever. It’s the biggest joy and honor of my life to be his dad.
A few lessons learned:
Sleep when they sleep.
Trust your instincts.
Trust their instincts.
Breathe.
Respect them.
Set and reinforce boundaries.
Let them play, play, play.
Let them learn, discover, explore.
Tell them everything.
They see and hear everything.
They know.
Listen.
Wait.
They’re rational and complete, right out of the box.
Honor all their emotions. Everything is valid.
Let them learn and discover.
They want to be good.
Love them, love them, love them.
I only wish we’d made the choice to be parents sooner. We could have had that many more years with him…
Two books that have been absolute game-changers are gifts from my cousin : Respectful Parenting by Janet Lansbury, and Bringing Up Bebé by Pamela Drucker. We revisit them almost daily.
Also keep coming back to this Kahlil Gibran quote: “Your children are not your children. they are Life’s longing for itself.”
Nothing has ever felt more true. Baby B is his own dude. Our work is to love, guide, and be a soft place for him to land. That’s all we can do.
I think about my own dad, how he must’ve felt just like this. The joys, the frustrations, the gratitude. The new identities he must have had to continually shape, in both himself and in his ever-changing kids…
And there’s still so much on the way. Life is incredible.

Just hanging out with , creator of , , and a few hundred other life-changing fitness programs.
Guy is every bit as funny, humble, and committed to helping others as you’d imagine. His work has probably added 15+ quality years to my life. Still can’t believe I now get to call him a friend.
Endless gratitude to my very generous, talented, and stellar friends and for the introduction 🙏🏻

Just gonna leave this right here.
Being a dad is the most magical, transformational, important, and challenging role of my life. The love, the patience, the joy, the lack of sleep, the financial pressures… It’s a relentless exercise in self-compassion, in attention, in beholding every tiny miracle, every moment that makes up a life, the human experience.
Today’s a stressful one—the future feels so uncertain—but our little man is smiling and drooling and eating, wants to walk before he crawls, is making new sounds and faces and taking in every detail of the world, an Anthropologist of All The Things.
So, I remind myself: today, we have a roof over our head. Today, we have food in the fridge and a car that works. Today, we have our health and each other, and today we have family and friends and unseen possibilities and the ongoing opportunity to give B the warmest, most supportive, most loving environment we can.
And cereal! We have cereal. Truth: if have cereal, you’re probably gonna be okay.
Breathe. Trust. Practice. Love. We are all enough. Let’s keep walking each other home.
