“Ranch on the Road” was out and about this week! We love sharing the Good News & our beloved animal ambassadors.

We're excited to share that “A Horse for Kyla”, a pastel portrait by Jim Slavik (founder of Do Good Art), inspired by our very own Parker, has been selected as one of just five national finalists in the American Cancer Society’s 2026 Artist of the Year competition! This very special piece was created in honor of Kyla, who inspired kids and families as a Wrangler volunteer at Guided Hope while courageously battling brain cancer.

Public voting is open from June 15 through July 17, with the winner’s artwork being reproduced on donor appreciation gifts distributed by the American Cancer Society. Because of Kyla’s connection to Guided Hope and the horse that inspired the painting, we wanted to share this exciting news and invite others to support the piece through voting and sharing!

At Guided Hope, we’re passionate about creating space for children and families to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect—with themselves, with each other, and with God through the rhythms of ranch life.

It has been such a gift to partner with Mountain States Children’s Home and welcome their House Parent families to the ranch.

House Parents pour so much of themselves into caring for the children in their homes each day, and it’s been an honor to offer their families a place of rest, peace, and renewal.

Whether it’s feeding animals, cleaning stalls, gathering eggs, or spending time with the horses, ranch life creates simple but meaningful opportunities for kids to build confidence, responsibility, and connection. For many children, these hands-on moments also become a chance to reset—stepping away from the noise and busyness of everyday life into a calm, peaceful environment.

We were also honored to donate eight chickens to Mountain States Children’s Home; what a joy knowing they’ll bring both practical support and everyday opportunities for learning and responsibility at home.

We’re so grateful for our partnership with Mountain States and for the opportunity to serve the incredible House Parent families who give so much. It’s a privilege to come alongside them, and we’re thankful to play even a small part in supporting the children and families they care for so faithfully. 🤍

Huge shoutout to the students from Resurrection Christian Middle School for spending the day serving out at the ranch!

From tackling projects to working hard side-by-side, this group showed so much teamwork, kindness, and heart. It’s always inspiring to see students willing to jump in and serve others with joy.

We are so grateful for their time, energy, and helping hands. Thank you for making a difference at Guided Hope!

Come celebrate Berthoud Day with us! 🎉🤠

On Saturday, June 6, our team from Guided Hope will be walking in the Berthoud Day Parade, and we’d love to see some familiar faces cheering along the route! The parade kicks off at 10:00 AM, and the fun continues afterward at Berthoud Town Park with live music, food trucks, and local vendors.

It’s one of our favorite community traditions, and we’re excited to be part of it again this year. Come support Guided Hope, enjoy a fun summer day with family and friends, and celebrate all the amazing things happening in our community! ☀️🎶🌭🐴

The Hope Trail is officially reopened!

After lots of hard work clearing the path and setting up fun trail obstacles, Riley Bird (one of our wranglers) helped bring this special part of the ranch back to life.

Riley shared, “I love serving at Guided Hope because even the small ways we help can create significant experiences in others’ lives.”

We’re so excited to have the trail ready for guests to enjoy during all of our summer programming, from peaceful rides to confidence-building adventures along the way.
