🌳🎨 Creativity is reaching new heights in Art I!
Under the direction of Art Teacher Jessica Gonzalez, students designed and built imaginative 3D tree house structures that brought the elements and principles of art to life.
While form was the primary focus, each project also included a detailed written reflection documenting the planning, process, challenges, and final outcome.
The results? Forests (and beaches) full of creativity, problem-solving, and artistic vision! 👏✨

A trip to Baywater Landing proved to be the perfect hands-on learning experience on a gorgeous day.
❤️🌊
Students in Heather Wieland’s classes cruised the Chincoteague Bay learning about the seafood industry, local folklore, and history. One student even tried her hand as Captain, too! 🧑✈️
On shore, students went fishing 🎣 and learned about crabs 🦀, including how they breed and molt, and how to pick crabs when Mom is not around!

When chemistry meets art . . . (👩🔬 + 🎨)
amazing things happen!
Students in Sara Patrick’s Advanced Placement Chemistry class put their creativity and scientific knowledge on full display as they transformed complex chemistry concepts into beautiful works of art. 🧑🎨
Through painting and a gallery walk, students visually demonstrated principles including Entropy, Titration, REDOX Reactions, DNA, and Coral Bleaching.
The result? A colorful fusion of science, imagination, and learning that proved chemistry is about much more than formulas and lab reports. 🔬🖌️✨

Our Stephen Decatur High School art department has some amazing news! 📰
Worcester County Education Foundation co-chairs (and ) Kristie (Priestley) Fogle and Bobby Hammond just presented our Digital Photography classes with a check to purchase a much needed printer, which will allow our photographers the opportunity to build beautiful portfolios and to display their works in our hallways. 📸
We are so thankful and excited to provide our students with this wonderful opportunity to showcase their talents. 🖼️
