Sunday Fun-Day!!!🤭

🎓🐾 Theo is officially an AC K9 Training Graduate!

When Theo first arrived, he was a sweet boy with a big heart and an even bigger motor. Over the past two weeks, we’ve worked on building impulse control, confidence, and clear communication through commands like come, heel, place, down, and off. We tackled distractions, field trips, door manners, self soothing, and learning how to stay calm even when the world around him feels exciting or overwhelming.

Theo has come such a long way, and I’m incredibly proud of the dog he’s becoming. His family put their trust in me, and now it’s their turn to continue the journey at home. Remember, training doesn’t end here. It simply shifts from teacher to owner.

Way to go, Theo! We can’t wait to watch you keep growing. 💙🐶

Trainer Chelsea and Monroe taking on the Detroit Riverwalk one command at a time. 🐾🌆

We love representing the D and showing our dogs that good behavior doesn’t stop at home. From city sights to new sounds and distractions, Monroe is learning that calm, confident dogs can go anywhere. ❤️🏙️

Welcome Maverick! 👋🐾

Mav is an 8 month old Lab puppy joining us for our Board & Train program to work on basic obedience and impulse control! He has human siblings at home and spends lots of time camping with his family, so having a reliable recall and learning how to calmly and respectfully coexist around people, dogs, and campground distractions is incredibly important.

Over the next two weeks, we’ll be building a strong foundation in come, sit, place, down, heel, and teaching him that listening applies everywhere, not just at home. We can’t wait to watch this sweet boy grow in confidence and become the best camping buddy and family companion he can be! 🏕️🖤

But in all seriousness, we have so much fun doing what we love every single day, and we truly wouldn’t trade this job for anything in the world. ❤️🐾

Theo and Monroe putting in the work today! 🐾

Learning that another dog doesn’t always mean it’s time to play. Coexisting, staying neutral, and focusing on their handlers. That’s real socialization.

Meet Monroe! 🐾

At just 5 months old, Monroe is already learning one of the most important lessons a puppy can learn: how to be calm around the world.

Today we worked on his place command at the park while people, dogs, bikes, and other distractions passed by. The goal isn’t to make him ignore life. The goal is to teach him that he doesn’t need to react to everything he sees.

A lot of people think socialization means meeting every dog and every person. In reality, some of the best socialization happens when a puppy learns to simply coexist with the world around them.

The ability to watch, stay calm, and make good decisions is what creates a confident, well behaved adult dog.

Monroe did an awesome job today and has a very bright future ahead of him! ❤️🐾

Door manners aren’t about having a “perfect” dog.

They’re about having a safe dog.

Every time your dog practices rushing the door, they’re building a habit. Every time they practice staying calm, they’re building a different one.

The problem is that most owners don’t think about door manners until their dog slips past them.

By then, it’s too late.

Teach your dog that a knock at the door, an open door, or guests arriving doesn’t automatically mean they get to make decisions for themselves.

Calm is trained. Safety is trained. Freedom is earned.

Would your dog stay put if the front door opened right now?
