It’s time for First Friday 🍷

Make Music Day Berkeley is a free, citywide celebration that turns Berkeley into one big stage, inviting everyone to make, share, and experience music in all its forms. Each year on ⭐️June 21, we fill parks, sidewalks, plazas, shops, and unexpected corners of Downtown and beyond with live performances, participatory music-making, and joyful collaborations.
From indie bands and DJs to choirs, student ensembles, classical players, and first-time performers, Make Music Day is built for all ages, all genres, and all skill levels. Bring your instrument, your voice, your curiosity, or just your ears. Whether you’re performing, hosting, volunteering, or wandering from set to set, you’re part of a day that celebrates creativity, connection, and Berkeley’s vibrant music community.

We hope that everyone had a great time celebrating, connecting and being themselves at the Gilman District Street Fair. As a grassroots, community-based event and District, we are especially appreciative of our local businesses that assist us through sponsorship, both financial or in kind, allowing the 4th year of this joyful event to come to fruition!

A shout out to everyone involved in yesterday’s energetic, lovely and truly welcoming event! From our vendors who had such gorgeous, quality booths to our volunteers and performers who brought their own magic to share.
Then there was the community itself… a beautifully friendly, dynamic and receptive crowd that kept the joy and energy of the day flowing!

You can find Gilman District sweatshirts and tees for sale at booth 38. We have pull over sweatshirts and tees with our scaffold logo (by ) and zip hoodies with the electric cloud logo. Both are printed locally at Alliance Graphic (a union shop).
If you need assistance or directions, our lovely fair volunteers will be wearing blue Gilman District Street Fair tees.
