The Berkeley Master of Financial Engineering Program

As part of our New York Career Trek, the Berkeley MFE delegation had the privilege of visiting the Americas headquarters of BNP Paribas.

As a premier institutional partner, BNP Paribas delivered a sharp overview of their front-office Quantitative Finance Associate track within the Global Markets Americas (GMA) division. Our students gained a deep understanding of how mathematical innovation drives their core pillars of Quantitative Research, Structuring, and Trading. The engagement was anchored by hearing directly from Berkeley MFE alumni Chinmayi Gajula, Elisa Piaraly, and Hao Yan. Their insights into bridging the gap between advanced financial theory and real-time ex*****on provided an inspiring blueprint for current students.

Starting our New York visit at BlackRock and hearing directly from the pioneering Aladdin team was a spectacular way to launch the trek. Engaging with senior leaders at the forefront of investment infrastructure and risk analytics provided MFEs with invaluable industry perspective and an unforgettable highlight of this year's trek.

As we begin Term 2, our students are building on the momentum of the first term through continuing coursework, bonding with one another, and kicking off more industry projects to prepare for internship season ahead.

We officially celebrated the start of the term with an American-style barbecue, bringing the cohort, faculty, and staff together to reconnect through food and cheers. We’re excited to see our MFEs continue learning, supporting one another, and taking the next step in their careers. 🚀

We're thrilled to announce the MFE New York Career Trek taking place next week. For 3 days, at 10 firms, with countless opportunities, our students will be connecting with industry leaders across finance and capital markets.

📅 From May 26th - 28th, MFE students will be exploring premier finance firms across the big apple:
