🌊There are moments when I can feel myself inhabiting my body in a way where I feel ease, relief, and an inner knowing. I’m able to settle the mind and nervous system enough to finally feel my breath breathing me. Energy becomes just that: energy—not too much, or draining, not scattered or not enough, just energy coursing through my veins and reminding me of my aliveness, of our aliveness.
🌊And then another wave comes and I’m in the noise and swirliness again, until that wave passes and I find the ground of the shore once more.
Shadowy eclipse season collaging 🖤💛💀
⚪️ Sometimes I find myself processing in images, sometimes through words, sometimes through movement, other times through stillness, and yet others, not at all.
⚫️ Whatever your way of processing emotions, informations, sensory input, pain, it is valid and it is part of your body’s wisdom showing you how experiences want to move or be transformed through your system.
🙏🏻Sometimes therapy is a ritual— the natural elements are the container, and we practice naming and releasing fears and old habits while calling in growth, peace, ease, balance, renewal, etc.
This was entitled “my circle of stability” by a wondrous being I’ve been so inspired by in our work together so far 🔵🌊
✍🏻 New blog post exploring living inside of a sensitive NERVOUS system and coming into a secure attachment with Self and with life.
👀 Give it a read. Link in bio: Writing to Embody.
🫶🏻 Love to your nervous systems.
🥂 Cheers to finding secure attachment, if not in this lifetime, maybe the next one ;)
🫶🏻“I want to remember to love little me”.
🍯 “I want to experience the sweetness and the nectar of life”.
Some gems 💎 from our first Fall Refuge Healing Circle with and 8 sweet beings who COUR-ageously shared their hearts with us.
✨What a true gift to get to be guided and be a guide for this coming home to our selves, finding and in our place in this world.
A poem for this sabbath day of rest from a bodymind that finds it hard to rest :) (scroll for full poem)🍃🙋🏻♀️
I am made of a pressure,
a tight grip
a dopamine drip
of achievement
chasing the
next
next
next
where rest
Is not in the lexicon
and they keep extracting from us
Until caked dirt becomes fragmented
and the bedrock begins to shatter
from pouring all our resources into
Innovation
Development
and forgetting to cast our gaze downward
to the thirsting earth
to tend to it and one another.
to regenerate
and sip the water together,
hydrating our aching souls as they meet the soul of the earth.
I am made of dancing dayenus, matzoh ball soup, and chicken broth
that could fill even the hungriest of souls,
transmitting the parsley dotted broth
as if it could course through our veins
just as theirs before us.
Connecting us back to the ancestral–
the old ways, a slow medicine
for our inflamed earth
and our inflamed bodies.
🍂 Fall equinox reflection:
in this eternally sought after thing called balance within our bodyminds while living in an imbalanced and upside down world 😵💫, what might shift us toward balancing our pain expression and our creative expression, from a body/mind in pain to a body/mind in creativity and expression?
💭Share your thoughts/ reflections in the comments if you’re feeling like it.
✍🏻 🌕 Full Moon Writing to Embody:
Reflecting on the things we carry that are ours and not ours, that become caked residue over time.
Full poem via link in bio, partial continued here…
📓Rinse the vessel of its residue\ pour out the corroded insides and let fresh water wash over you.
What is meant to be held in there will find its way to remain\ and the rest can become the earthen clay

🍃As someone who has turned to many of the ways to leave the body/mind (including a ).
I’ve learned from many guides and practitioners to break it down to this question at times: “What do I need to be able to stay here, in the body, for this now?” And then the next now and the next one.
🟢There are good reasons we find ways to leave our bodies and leave the present moment— it can be hard to exist in a human body/mind at times.
🟢What can support you to stay here, with sensation/ emotion/ thought/
experience for just this now (not all of them, just this one)?
As we shift toward the season of the harvest 🍁, I’m so moved to get to share a second offering from seeds planted earlier this year with
🌄This daylong retreat blends expressive arts, body-based (somatic) practices and nature/eco therapy and will create a space to explore and express the stories our bodies hold and tell.
The retreat will include:
🟣guided visualizations/ meditations
🟣expressive arts exercises, 🟣space for processing and collaborative creating.
🤲🏻Through this retreat, participants will explore their connection to their body / embodiment and will leave with creative tools and practices to deepen into the process of claiming/reclaiming and/ or rooting into our bodies’ stories—from a place of choice, autonomy, and connection to others with shared and distinct lived experiences.
All materials will be provided- bring yourself and a lunch, and let the rest unfold before you.
This is a trauma-informed, co-facilitated and therapeutic space, held by two therapists. It is not intended to take the place of individual or group therapy. This retreat is open to all folks 18 years and older. We aim to create an inclusive space for all bodies, abilities, genders, sexual orientation, race, and culture.
There is a stillness quality of mind I’ve heard described as “still like a lake”.
While I haven’t often experienced this state (and I know I’m not alone here), I do practice cultivating it. And I look to nature as teacher and guide to remind me what the stillness is like.
Here’s to even just moments of a still mind with nature as our guide.
Sometimes life gives you breath and life, it gives you heart-opening, awe-inspiring experiences and connections with dear humans and other beings. I am just emerging from one of them.
Oh to be a wildflower among the wildflowers, what a true gift.
🤲🏻 It’s a vulnerable process to turn a part of your inner life into an outer one, and then to bring it onto the page into words and images.
✍🏻It’s a process that has happened internally and in heartfelt collaboration with this gem . And it’s a process I’m proud of— one that will continue to unfold, and one that now lives on the pages of the EarthBodies zine.

About EarthBodies: a collection of poems and images centered around the themes of shared and distinct lived experience of chronic pain, mental illness, and finding deep refuge and healing in the natural world.
🌀Friends, I’m truly not sure how many cycles of burnout it will take me before I disrupt my own cycle. And extractive, exploitive systems aren’t going to be the ones to save me or us.
⏸ So I’m taking a break; I wish it was more like a full sabbatical (or gap year?!), but for now, it’s a full 2 weeks off, beginning with a weeklong silent meditation retreat, which I’ll be talking all about here (kidding ;)).
🙏🏻 May we find another way toward collective well-being that includes EVERYBODY (not leaving out the mamas and parents, the service providers, the educators, the therapists, etc.), because this isn’t it. This is not the way.
📸 cred, a dear one: resilientrashmi
During this I had the opportunity to engage in a dynamic dialogue on the diversity inclusion podcast (The DIP) about:
⚪️movement and mental health
⚪️how integral healing the mind-body split has been in my own journey, and
⚪️burnout vs depression, where they overlap, where they diverge.
Give a listen (via LinkTree in bio), and let’s keep the conversation going.
“There is more to life than increasing its speed”.
🙏🏻So grateful for moments to slow down, reflect, digest and just be, for moments in solitude and in sangha (community), for exploring outer and inner landscapes, familiar and unfamiliar.
🏜Took myself on a guided and self-guided weekend retreat, prompted by the beautiful humans of and a deep need to disrupt the auto-pilot grind mode I’ve been in for a few months now.
✍🏻 Writing to Embody: reflections on love and being loved across time, how somehow we continue to open until we find our softness meeting another’s softness once again.
❤️🩹 We can mend and tend our heartbreak through all the little and big tears. We’ve got this loves.
