Ever since the news of Bob Weir's passing, it has been heartwarming to see the variety of people, whose lives Bob touched. From Gavin Newsom, to Al Di Meola to Joan Baez, the list goes on and on. And to me this is what Bob stood for: Inclusion.

For me, as part of the Wolf Bros & Wolfpack, playing The Grateful Dead cannon with symphony orchestras around the world, it felt like Bob was just getting started on this last journey, which in his mind was going to secure the Grateful Dead legacy for centuries to come. It seemed that legacy had already been secured, as the GD's songs are woven deeply into the very fabric of American culture, but to Bob it was about connecting with a different kind of audience and music. He deeply cared that everybody in the symphony were being included in this collaboration, and his goal was to get the symphony players jammin' and groovin', and not just reading the music off the page. Although it is a tricky thing to do from a practical perspective, his excitement and determination to make this happen were infectious.

We never quite got to that point with the few times we did these concerts with The National, Atlanta, and New Orleans Symphonies, but we were on our way.
The point of this story is that there was no challenge too great for Bob to overcome. He was so determined, and totally comfortable to step out of his comfort zone at age 78 to connect with a different kind of a scene. It was a cool journey to be a part of. Thank you, Bob for the ride.

My condolences go out to Bob's family at this difficult time.
