The first ever Startup Weekend Berkeley will give students the chance to brainstorm, collaborate, and pitch a novel startup concept in 54-hours. Join us!
Startup Weekend is a global non-profit that organizes 54-hour events in cities around the world, all of which help educate, support, and empower people to become entrepreneurs. The basic idea is to bring people together for a weekend long experiential workshop to pitch ideas, form teams, and create companies. Participants of the event will have 54 hours to brainstorm and model their very own start

Message from Ava Co-Founder and winner of Startup Weekend Berkeley, Pieter Doevendans: "In September 2013, more than 3 years ago, something really special happened at the very first Startup Weekend Berkeley. It was the very beginning of an idea to empower deaf and hard of hearing people. That weekend, we built a plexiglass ASL (sign language) device, and won the Startup Weekend.
Today we are launching Ava to the world. An app for deaf and hard of hearing, to understand group conversations and become part of daily professional and social interactions!
