If anyone sees this post on 02.21 please send a message to your senator and rep in the Oregon legislature TODAY and ask them to Vote No on SB 1506 which would raise retail sales taxes.

WE ALL NEED TO SOUND THE ALARM AND MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD!

The cannabis industry and our customers need to do EVERYTHING possible to ensure that our elected officials in Salem understand how unpopular and devastating this would be.

Please CALL and EMAIL your local representatives, and let them know you live in their districts and did not elect them to raise taxes on an essential item. Do so TODAY. They vote TODAY.

I'm writing to you to let you know that I strongly oppose the cannabis sales tax increase, and I want you to VOTE NO on SB 1506. Inflation is rising -- housing, food, gas and other items are more expensive. Higher cannabis prices will push many folks into the illicit market where untested, unregulated and untaxed cannabis is available.

Cannabis has been a source of joy and comfort to me for many years. The amount I can spend on cannabis continues to dwindle, and I'm dismayed that the legislature is considering increasing the price of such an essential product. This is a regressive sales tax that hurts working class people like me.

Any cannabis sales tax increase will have a negative impact on me and other Oregonians. Our communities are suffering.
Oregonians consume cannabis for their health and well-being. To tax an essential product that promotes wellness in our communities seems absurd to me. I cannot imagine that voters elected you so that you could raise taxes on a product that is deemed essential.
