(Matthew 7:26) Jesus said, "Everyone who listens to these words of mine but does not act on them will be like a fool who built his house on sand."

We watch on the news where homes built on sand come crashing down, and yet homes keep being built on sand. Lord help us to not be fools but followers of Your words so we will build our lives on solid ground.

(Isaiah 49:4) "Though I thought I had toiled in vain, and for nothing, uselessly, spent my strength, yet my reward is with the LORD, my recompense is with my God."

Doing things for the appreciation of others will too often leaves us disappointed. Doing things because they are the right thing to do, knowing that God knows, is much more rewarding.

(2 Kings 19:14-15) "You who have made the heavens and the earth. Incline your ear, O LORD, and listen! Open your eyes, O LORD, and see!"

The LORD has done so much in bringing creation into being, has done so much throughout history, so trust that the LORD who hears us and sees us can do so much for us when we ask.

(Matthew 7:1-2) Jesus said, "Stop judging, that you may not be judged. For as you judge, so will you be judged."

Instead of assuming the worst of another, recognize that you cannot fully know all that there is to know about them, so assume the best of another.

"Even all the hairs of your head are counted." (Matthew 10:30)

God knows you intimately. God knows what you are going through. Your joys, fears, and struggles. God is involved in every aspect of your life, and is there for you, cares for you, and loves you.

(2 Chronicles 24:20) "God says, 'Why are you transgressing the LORD's commands, so that you cannot prosper? Because you have abandoned the LORD, he has abandoned you.'"

The LORD's commands are tools for our well-being, not a takeover, and God's presence is not threatening, but a helpful resource for our success. So, abandoning the LORD is our own demise.

(Matthew 6:23) "If the light in you is darkness, how great will the darkness be."

Even in the darkest times, when we keep the flame of faith burning brightly in our hearts we will always find the light.
