The Table
The Table is a newly forming Christian community focused on following the way of Jesus by loving and Hungry for community? Thirsty for God? Welcome to The Table.
In our fast-food culture, we are too busy for real relationships, deep spirituality, and purposeful service of others. The Table exists to nourish these deepest of longings.
Hey friends of The Table. It's been months since we closed down, but we just got a bill for $1339.54 from Oregon's Employment Department. But we already gave away to another church what was left in our checking account. If you're able to help out with a one-time gift toward paying off this final bill, send me a personal message and I'll let you know how to do so. I plan on contributing toward it myself but can't afford to pay it off with my limited income. Pete
Dear friends of The Table, I'm sad to say that we have officially closed down. It's been a great journey of exploring different expressions of following Jesus in community and we've all grown through the process. But the time has come to close this chapter, thanking God for all he's done in it. One of the "children" of The Table is my blog at petesantucci.com which you can also follow on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/GodAndLifeAndStuff/. I hope you will do so, continuing the journey with me into whatever God is writing in the next chapter until we sit together at the table with our Lord at the marriage supper of the Lamb.

Loving God. Riding mountain bikes. Engaging in mission. Life at its best.
The gospel on a mountain bike The text came last night: “Be ready at 8:30.” It was ominous, but in a promising sort of way. So, morning came. I dressed, took kids to school, and got my bike ready. My friend arrived promptly at …

Inspired by our Table gathering last night, here's a reflection on a Jesus conversation in John 4.
The Jesus who confronts our pain & shame I am a strategically self-protective person. I hide my faults and weaknesses. I weigh my words. I hedge my bets. Because of this, there’s a side to Jesus that I find particularly disturbing. …

Whether we like it or not, we have to deal with money. But most of us do it poorly. This coming Sunday, we're taking a look at what kind of spirituality the Scriptures offer us to help us live with the money we've got and the money we don't have.

If you missed last Sunday's look at one of the holes in our spiritualities — how we deal with food — here's a version of it.
Toward a spirituality of eating I love to eat, a lot. In fact, I love to eat a lot, a lot. Because of that, I find a certain tension inside of myself. I love to eat, because food is so good. There are flavors that make my whole b...
Eating is central to what we do as The Table, since community is formed around the table. But our culture struggles deeply with the way we eat — from anorexia to over-eating, from junk food indulgence to health food obsessiveness. So, this Sunday we're taking time to outline a biblical spirituality of eating from feasting to fasting.
Join us this coming Sunday @ 5:30 p.m. at Seven Peaks School for our first official worship gathering!
