A lot has changed over the past seven years, but our desire to help as many of our local businesses thrive as possible still remains.
Angela and Jeremy are our team's project completion enthusiasts! ✅ 🥳
They say they are 'slightly obsessed' but the rest of us know their obsession is a lot more than slight. In fact, they literally make all of us go back and press "Done" on projects during our Monday meetings so they can watch the 'confetti' on the big screen. 🙄 😉
One of the biggest mistakes leaders make is assuming everyone is motivated, communicates, and solves problems the same way they do.
They're not.
The better you understand your own personality, strengths, blind spots, and communication style, the better equipped you are to coach, manage, and lead a team effectively.
In this clip, Todd Sensenbach of CertaPro Painters shares how personality assessments and self-awareness can help leaders build stronger teams and get the best out of the people around them.
Have you ever taken a personality assessment like DISC, Enneagram, Myers-Briggs, or StrengthsFinder? What did you learn about yourself?

Nobody talks about this part of entrepreneurship...
The late nights. The uncertainty. The moments where you're wondering if everyone else has it figured out except you.
Starting a business is exciting—but it's also frustrating, stressful, chaotic, and full of lessons you can only learn the hard way.
In the very first live episode of Nobody Warned Me, we sat down with Chase Mersereau of Lumen Shade Solutions at the Home & Garden Show to talk about what it's really like being a newer business owner—the wins, the challenges, and the things nobody tells you before you take the leap.
If you've ever owned a business, thought about owning a business, or found yourself questioning why you decided to own one in the first place... you'll probably relate to this conversation.

We live in a culture that constantly tells people:
“If you’re unhappy, just leave.”
But the reality is… if you base every decision on temporary feelings, you’ll never stay committed long enough to build something meaningful.
Most people aren’t going to feel happy or fulfilled at work every single day. That’s normal.
The people who grow the most are the ones who learn how to push past emotions in the moment and reconnect with:
• who they’re working for
• why they’re working
• and what they’re building long-term
That shift changes everything.

“Why am I paying this much for leads?!" In our latest blog post, we highlight six low-cost creative strategies to increase your ad performance and lower your cost per lead — potentially by a lot!
🎙️ Another episode of Nobody Warned Me just dropped.
This time, we’re talking about mistakes, learning things the hard way, and paying what we lovingly refer to as the “stupid tax”, because apparently, one of the fastest ways to learn in business is to accidentally light money on fire first.
If you own a business, there’s a very high chance you’ve paid this tax before as well 😅

It only took a couple of years of talking about doing this to actually get around to doing it… But we’ve officially launched our new podcast 🎙️
Introducing Nobody Warned Me — a podcast about the real side of running a business: the mistakes, frustrations, wins, chaos, and everything else nobody tells you before becoming an entrepreneur. Oh yeah, and some other random stuff just for fun.
This episode features Rob Imhoff — small business owner and candidate for Deschutes County Commissioner — where we talk about local business, government, the economy, entrepreneurship, and our ongoing inability to pronounce each other’s last names correctly despite knowing each other for years.
We filmed this episode live at the COBA Home & Garden Show, so fair warning: the audio gets clipped at times because of the amount of background noise and crowd volume around us. Turns out recording a podcast in the middle of a busy event is not friendly for mics.
If you own a business, want to own a business, or are currently questioning why you decided to own a business… this one’s for you.

For those who haven't attended yet, the home and garden show is happening now with the golf show, and we'd love for our business owner friends to join us for a podcast recording.
