East Cascades Works provided a grant to Transition students to attend the Women In Trade Student Summit. This was an amazing oportunity for these young women to learn more about the careers available to them, gain self advocacy, and realize how strong they really are. Yes, women can do anything! Transition Network - HDESD thank you for sharing this empowering story!

Working in retail is not an easy task but Sara is up for every challenge. Sara has been chosen as an Outstanding Employee due to the great work, dedication, and recent advancement she
has received in her current position. She has worked at Albertson's for a number of years now and recently showed interest in expanding her duties into another department. Her coach supported her in looking into these options and advocated for this with management. Sara decided on the floral department. Over the last month Sara has been learning new tasks in this department and completing this in addition to her courtesy clerk duties. Her supervisor has reported high satisfaction in her work,
as well as Sara is very happy with these new tasks. Great work Sara!!

Victoria really loves her job, and that's why she nominated SCP Hotel Redmond as a supportive employer we had to recognize in September. SCP stands for Soul, Community, Planet. This philosophy and approach not only describes the amenities and services, it extends to how they do employment.
Tanya Young a supportive employment professional with ALSO says: "It's a pleasure to find businesses that hire individuals and become community partners. My experience working with Nate and the Hotel has been a pleasure"
We love that SCP Redmond Hotel supports their employees and supports students to have trial work experiences and prepare for community jobs. They are fully vested in the mission of employment for all, and creating inclusive community.

We can't think of a better way to celebrate Labor Day than by celebrating Richard. This working man is a bit of a local celebrity, and when he's not staring in movies or running for mayor, he is hard at work doing a great job at Broken Top.
During the covid shutdown Broken Top held Richard's job for over a year. Now that things are getting back to normal he is back to work. And is a valued employee for his great work, and positive attitude he brings each workday. Happy Labor Day and congratulations Richard on all of your hard work!

Okay, we just had to share this Worthy employment story! Punny dad jokes aside, we are seriously excited to recognize Corey.

Corey has worked at Worthy Brewing in Bend since it first opened. He is one of Worthy's longest employees. He works in the kitchen, doing prep, and dishwashing, and helping where needed. He works full time, and almost never will miss a day. He is the first to offer to cover a co-workers shift if needed. Corey does not have a job coach and works completly independently, but he is part of a supportive team at Worthy. The relationships he has built with management and co workers have helped him be successful. Thanks Corey and Worthy Brewing for sharing this employment story with us!

When you love your job, you will never work a day in your life!
Years ago, Lizzie used to volunteer as an Elvis impersonator, going to local nursing homes to entertain the residents. Little did she know she could turn her love of helping people into a job. Lizzie is a valuable employee at the Touchmark community. She does an excellent job supporting the residents while making everyone smile. We are so proud to recognize Lizzie for our Employee Success Story.
