Reminder: This starts at 5pm Pacific Time virtually for anyone that would like to join us.
Join us on April 28th to discuss what may be the largest mass eviction of homeless people in recent history.
Nearly 200 people are living outside in Oregon's Deschutes National Forest, most of which grew up nearby and were priced out of their homes due to rising housing costs. On May 1st, the Trump Administration's Forest Service plans to forcibly remove all of them, without giving people anywhere else to go. Trump has talked openly about rounding up homeless people and forcing them into government-run detention camps. If we are unable to stop the May 1st eviction, the stage is set for a potentially catastrophic clash between people forced to live outside and federal police.
