From the cozy confines of our “sussie” (translates to “rock”) cave house hotel room to the enchanting strolls through time-worn alleys, every corner was chock full of history and heritage. During our wanderings, a local guide shared a story of how his father saved five euros to purchase buildings one at a time.

Matera was such an amazing stop on our trip—a city designed and built into the stone of a mountainside! We left feeling inspired by the old-world vibes, textures, and creativity.

We have about one month left on this project and things are starting to come together! Sheetrock and floors are in with tile, cabinets, and doors in progress this week.
