Graduation weekend has Dean’s sister and brother-in-law visiting Central Oregon for the first time. Yeah! Dean figures this is the perfect time for a 10 Songs in a Life segment with his sis. Last time he had a relative on Pop Excavations it turned out to be quite the cryfest. Can’t make that promise this time, but tears or not there’s bound to be some great classics as well as new music played—maybe even some Carpenters!! Tune in to Pop Excavations today at 4 PM at 88.9 or stream the show at KPOV.ORG.

Tom and Dean are a week late but a couple of days into 2016 is no reason not to share some of their favorites from 2015. Today, January 8, the didactic duo cohost their annual Favorites & Discoveries Reveal show. Don’t know what Tom’s got lined up but Dean’s got music from past favorites who released gold again in 2015 (Grimes) as well as some new acts to him (PRW BTTM)—in fact a new genre to Dean: Q***r Punk. Tune in to 88.9 KPOV at 4 PM or stream the show at KPOV.ORG.

Dean and Tom are in the studio today continuing their exploration of new wave music. Up today are the racial and physical markers and meanings of new wave music. They'll be focusing primarily on the herky jerky performances of the Talking Heads and DEVO, but expect some talk about James Taylor and the Zep, too. Tune in at 4 PM to 88.9 FM or stream the show at KPOV.ORG.

Dean is in the studio today with a special guest--a guest who has performed at the White House with a pig! No, that's not a typo. Thor Erickson, an instructor in the culinary program at COCC, is Dean's guest for a 10 Songs in a Life segment. Tune in at 4 today at 88.9, KPOV, or stream the show at KPOV.ORG.
