Lots of things going on heading for the Black Hills tomorrow for some deep horse riding, last day at the Farmers Market for a couple weeks. Last Farmers Market for a couple weeks. our Vietnamese friend April was there today, putting up hay hauling hay storing hay. We need about 650 big bales this winter. The little blue cabin is going to be our farm store once we get home.

Moving animals this morning, they’re gonna clean up the Orchard then they’re gonna go down to the neighbors

Every time I see this, I see a miracle. This young Waygu heifer got a little bit of help. Nice bull calf. Five minutes later mom is licking the heck out of it. It’ll be up in 30 minutes nursing.

Another Rodeo at CBR. And saving a little one

Another rodeo tonight, we spied a calf that was looking a little gaunt. Brought him into the handler brought his mom through. was 1652 pounds about average for a Charolais. Her bag was engorged, three of the four teats were plugged up. Worked on those got a few quarts of milk out of her, we fed the calf with a bottle, relieved the pressure on her utter and put her out. the calf dived for those babies. probably still out there right now sucking away.
