Last year, three local teens were the recipients of the first-ever Youthpreneurs of NW Washington Awards. More than just offering a financial boon, the awards recognized their efforts, boosted their confidence, and inducted them into our community’s network of small business pioneers.

The Youthpreneurs of NW Washington Awards were created by three Bellingham-based men who understand the trials and rewards of entrepreneurship: Trevor Swezey, founder of Highline Construction; Isaac Burrous, co-owner of Kent's Garden & Nursery; and Brandon Nelson, a celebrated Whatcom County realtor.

Lots to get done before the holiday weekend, but our crew is never too busy to stop and help animals in need. Our excavation team found these cuties at a job site. The nest was in harm's way and the baby birds would not have survived without help. Our crew stopped what they were doing and transported the birds to Whatcom Humane Society Wildlife Rehabilitation Center where they will be cared for until they can safely return to the wild. It's kind of a requirement to be an animal lover if you work for Highline!!! 🐦💚

Our crew had fun helping our friends over at Habitat for Humanity Whatcom County install trusses on their Mateo Meadows multi-family project up in Everson. Not too hot. Not too cold. The weather was juuuussst right.

After their custom home build was complete, building our lovely clients this custom garden was icing on the cake. 🍰🥕🍅💚
