Who launches a merino wool hat in the middle of summer?
This one packs down small enough to disappear in your pocket, but it's saved more than one chilly summit morning or windy boat ride. Base layer weight, one hundred percent merino, and one of those pieces a lot of you own more than one of.
New colors just landed and they were worth the wait. Link in bio!

L and XXL in Forest have already sold out from our next batch of Fastpacker Fleeces! 🌲 We’re keeping a close eye on the pre-order quantities, it is obvious you are loving all three of these new colors. 🌊🌲🖤 Outer Coast Blue, Forest, and Black were each inspired by beautiful natural landscapes, from places we love spending time in outside.
Quantities are moving across the other colors and sizes too, so if you have a color and size picked out, I wouldn’t wait too long. I’m getting very excited to see these heading out into the world and onto your adventures!

This tiny hat unfolds into one of our best sellers ever, and now it's available in new colors for the season 💚
One of my favorite things about the Nordic Anywhere Hat is how small it packs down. Super lightweight, one hundred percent merino wool, and it folds up into almost nothing so you'll always have it with you. Unfold it and you get a genuinely great beanie, warm without being bulky, that you can wear slouchy or cuffed depending on the day.
It's one of our absolute best sellers for a reason, and now it's here in new colors for the season.

This is what balancing work and movement looks like lately 😆
Laptop open on one side, trail shoes by the door on the other, and somehow trying to make both happen in the same day. Some days I get a proper trail run in, some days it’s squeezing in a few miles between emails and meetings, and very often it’s bringing work along with me and stopping mid-run to take a video because I suddenly have an idea for something I want to share.
Running a small outdoor brand means there isn’t always a very clear line between work time and outside time, but I’m pretty happy when I can find ways to fit both into the day. And yes, there are definitely a lot of emails drafted from trailheads and parking lots around here. 😂
I know so many other small business owners (and really, anyone with a busy life who loves getting outside) are doing this same juggle too. How are you fitting movement into your days lately? I’d love to hear what’s working for you!

Preparing my documentary about the great Fastpacker Fleece comeback of 2026 🎬📄
It has hoods. It has thumb loops. It has a story with plot twists. We halted production, went back to the drawing board, and brought back the fit everyone loved in the first place, just better. Truly Oscar bait. 😅
Pre-orders are open and shipping mid-September. Link in bio, no documentary required to grab yours 😂

Your base layers could be lasting years instead of seasons and most of us are washing them wrong 🧺
We build these fabrics to hold onto their softness, their wicking power, and their odor resistance for the long haul, but the way we care for them matters just as much as how they're made. A few small habit shifts and you'll notice the difference every single time you put them on.
Save this one for laundry day, you'll thank yourself later 💧😉

We stopped the line when we started production and I want to tell you why.
We LOVE the Fastpacker Fleece, and so many of you do, too. We want it to be the most proudly perfect version in its best form, every time.
Let’s rewind a bit. We used to make everything ourselves in Alaska. We started the brand before covid afterall, and making things ourselves is how we survived and stayed in business, and grew our awesome community in Alaska. We also had complete transparency and control of every aspect of how things came off the line.
We work with contractor partners in California now (as well as still sewing a small amount in Alaska!). Our gear is all Made in USA, and special styles like the Fastpacker Fleece - the fabric too is fully Made in the USA.
As the Fall 2026 Fastpacker Fleece samples came in for approval before beginning production this season, something just didn’t feel right in my gut. It just didn’t have the modern length and fit that is what makes me feel so great in this fleece, in my hiking clothes, and jeans, traveling on a long road trip or through airports. We had so many people tell us how much they loved that special length and fit styling of this style. So we halted everything. Even though I was dying to get this style back in stock.
Then we had a good look at the sewing patterns, the original samples and production runs, the feedback from the first batches and the most recent batches, and with the full confidence in the quality control of the factory partner we are working with, we made some refinements to ensure we get that just right fit, and went through another round of sampling!
Sometimes the right call is difficult to make. You probably know this, but a small brand is indeed a small business, and if you don’t have your bestsellers in stock, you don’t have what you need to pay the bills. But if you don’t make a truly great product that people love, in our case, great outdoor clothing and accessories, you won’t be in business for the long haul!
So after a lot of measuring, testing, fitting different sizes on different bodies and asking a lot of questions, we landed on what I know in my heart is what this style is supposed to be.
It is a bit of a modern shorter/boxier shape than a regular old school basic mid-layer. There’s a little more length in the larger sizes, but not too much extra sleeve length. It has a generous hood so the shoulders don’t ride up when you wear the hood and turn your head to the side. It has thoughtful features like stretch mesh binding the hem, cuffs and hood opening instead of thick elastic, so everything breathes and dries as quick as the rest of the garment. Thumb loops, a pony tail exit and the magical Polartec® Alpha™ Direct 90 fabric. Chef’s kiss! Perfection.
All of this means we are producing the best version of this fleece we have ever made instead of one that would possibly disappoint me, or anyone. Instead, it will hopefully do nothing but impress you.
I guess this is what it looks like when a brand actually listens. I wouldn’t have it any other way!
