Hello friends and family of the Goose!!!
Captain Dan had a cancellation this season and wanted to put it out there that he has 8 openings for a charter from Sitka to Petersburg, dates are Aug 19th to the 27th!!

If that charter doesn’t sell, Dan will be heading back from AK sooner this year which means the boat will be available late august and early September for day and/or weekend excursions. Kayak trip, dinner cruise, island hopping? (The options are endless)
If this interests you, please get ahold of Jamie Liden, you can PM on the Snow Goose page or email [email protected], or if you have her number feel free to call.

*feel free to share*

Cheers!!!

Hello friends of the Goose,

The last month has been full of unexpected hardship for Snow Goose crew and many around us, and we continue to adapt to the challenges surrounding the current COVID-19 situation. Unfortunately, with the closure of local schools in mid-March we had to cancel our spring Marine Science Program.

We are keeping a close eye on the situation and hope to see positive results from everyone’s efforts to practice social distancing. If we all do our part, summer 2020 can be a time for adventures, exploring the outdoors with friends and family, and celebrating our health. Stay home, stay healthy!

Take care,
Snow Goose Crew

New solar panels on top of the wheelhouse! With those long Alaskan summer days, they will help charge our battery bank.

Our Story

The Snow Goose was the last boat designed by famed naval architect Ed Monk Sr. She has spent her life doing what she was designed to do, explore the waters of Alaska, British Columbia, and Washington. Since her christening in 1973 she has been a private yacht, a research vessel, an oil spill response vessel (Exxon-Valdez), a marine education school, and a small cruise ship.

After my first trip on the Snow Goose in 1996, I felt a deep connection with the boat and a huge appreciation for the established marine science program throughout local school districts. In 2006, I jumped on the opportunity to take over ownership of the Snow Goose and continue the marine program in Bellingham Bay and throughout the San Juan Islands.

From May to September, the Snow Goose navigates the beautiful and remote waters of Southeast Alaska. Destinations include Glacier Bay, Sitka, Frederick Sound, Gustavus, and many stops in between. The Goose is for folks with curious minds, a sense of adventure, and an appreciation for our awesome planet.

When the Snow Goose is off season from touring Alaska, it resides in the waters of Squalicum Harbor. As I continue my journey with the Snow Goose as captain, mechanic, and effective educator, I invite my friends and friends of friends to join me and my boat family on this beautiful vessel. We cherish education, experiential learning, and most importantly stewardship of our environment. If it interests you to climb on the Snow Goose locally, arrangements can be made for private parties, events, or tours of Bellingham Bay.

Cheers,
Dan Liden, captain/ owner
