Last week we wrapped up a job pre-finishing some tongue and groove boards that will be installed as soffit on a house. We looked for a drying rack solution going into the project and discovered PaintBlox blocks. They are awesome! They are light weight, strong, easy to set up. Just add furring strips from the lumber yard and go. The website has a great calculator, that helps you determine how many blocks you need for your project. We highly recommend.
The stain is Benjamin Moore Woodluxe Transparent stain Mahogany which we picked up at the Barkley location of Stockton’s in Bellingham, WA.

PaintBloxPro for the win!!

This week we had a little pre-stain project (more goodness coming from this house soon) 30 - 16ft T&G boards for an exterior soffit. Sanded and stained with Benjamin Moore Woodluxe Water Based Translucent stain, color Mahogany. We needed a drying rack to excite this efficiently. We looked into renting one, no luck. We looked into buying one, they are expensive, bulky to use move and store (at least for us at this point in our operations). We looked at building something, the cost of wood is nothing to sneeze at. I looked again online for a modular something & found an awesome product. PaintBlox Pro These little blocks come in sets. You buy furring strips from the lumber store to make the cross bracing and can build whatever size rack you need. There is a very handy calculator on the website that will help you sort out what set is best for your project. They are made with some recycled plastic, lightweight, strong, easy to clean. PaintBlox Pro is owned, operated & invented by a guy from Vermont named Gavin. He is super helpful. These little blocks are exactly what I was looking for. They are easy to store, set up and use.
