Got some wonderful pieces out of the wood kilns at last week. It was so much fun to be there and learn more about wood firing. There was some fired in a soda chamber and some in a chamber where salt was introduced. It is wildly different results than what our kiln produces, so very interesting! Most of these will be heading to in the near future to find their forever homes.

Been a whirlwind of a week, but I do have to take a moment to share the beautiful pots that came out of the most recent wood firing. I still haven’t had time to look at them all, but there were some real beauties in there. So grateful for the team of people that kept the flames and the good vibes rolling. Each time gets better and better!

Years ago a lovely woman googled handmade tile near me and I popped up. She called and the rest is history as they say. She has employed me several times over the years, even after I finished this gorgeous fireplace for her. The fireplace is a representation of her and her likes, it never would have been the same for someone else. She enjoys commissioning artists and loves custom pieces. I don’t know quite how to say this might be the last for a while, but it might. Things aren’t the same as when I started this ten years ago and the phone and emails have been silent for almost a year. I have poured my all into this business I created, but everything is telling me it’s time to let it go, at least for now. I thank you all who supported me by buying pieces or commissioning something over the years. It has meant everything to me that people appreciate the things I make with my hands. I will focus on teaching for now and would love it if you would want to take a class from me. It’s not done forever, but something else needs to take its place for awhile.

Results from our class it’s a beautiful garden of tiles. I think everyone had a lovely time and I am looking forward to getting to do it again next summer!
