Haven’t you heard? 52 years ago, from a Ridgeway Commons storage room, KUGS first hit the airwaves.

Although things look a little different now- moving into the Viking Union studio in 1979, becoming the second radio station in the country to stream online, our thousands of CDs and vinyl curated by generations of students… It’s the same love for sharing music, news, and public service broadcasting that we carry with us today.

What is all this wonderful amazing new content? Well… KUGS is rebranding! Our awesome Office Assistant Chloë has worked so hard to bring a new life to the KUGS bear mascot from the years past, we’re excited to share this new piece of KUGS history with a future-leading spin!

In celebration of our 50th anniversary we are so excited to announce the KUGS 50th anniversary Birthday Bash! featuring Black Belt Eagle Scout and Tanukichan on Friday, Feb. 2, 2024 in the Viking Union MPR

Doors at 7:30, show at 8:00
