Congress is considering legislation that would expand some veterans' programs by changing disability ratings for tinnitus and obstructive sleep apnea.

According to VA estimates, those changes could affect up to 1.5 million veterans and reduce disability compensation by approximately $57 billion over the next 10 years.

Veterans should not pay for veterans' benefits.

This Saturday May 30th is the VFW Post 1585
Family Fun night from 4pm-8pm. There will be games and karaoke. We will have giant game versions of Connect Four, Tetris, Tumble, Sorry and more. Remote controlled infrared laser tanks for a friendly battle of fun plus karaoke.
Come out bring your friends and families and support the post and enjoy a fun night of family time and camaraderie. This is open to members and their guests. The bar will be open.

A gem was re-found over at the Sunnyland park. Prior to the construction of the freeway, a tree was planted for every service member of Whatcom County who died during WWI. Although William Matthews original tree is gone, his dedicated marker still exists under an American Elm tree.

"No One Does More For Veterans"

Karaoke will not be happening this Saturday the 23rd.

Please join us on the 30th for the full game night starting at 4:00pm.

VFW Post 1585 will have their Family Fun night starting at 6pm on May 23rd. This will be karaoke only. The full game night will be on the 30th.

Sunday, February 8th the Post will be open for the Super Bowl for members and guests. Game starts at 3:30. The post will be open at 1:30. This will be a potluck and we will have some door prizes. Come up have some fun, enjoy the game and support the Post. 🏈

The Auxiliary of 1585 will be having their Dessert Silent Auction. February 13.
Would love to have all you bakers bring a dessert! If you don’t bake, like me, it’s a fun time to check out all the cool bakeries in Bellingham and purchased something.

The silent auction is from 5 to 7 PM, if you would like to bring something, please have it at the post by 4 PM.
Or come on up and bid on a dessert and you’ll have it for Valentine’s Day!
