Found It Friday: End of Days
I'm back, baby, and I'm ashamed to say that my last Found It Friday post was in October. And y'all let me know how much you missed it (seriously, everyone please stop telling me how hilarious I am. It's embarrassing). I'll try harder next year. Pinky promise. But also, now I KNOW how many lurkers are out there because engagement was DOWN. Show some love, folks.
Before I get started here, I want everyone to know that THIS KOALA was found. Y'all. Holy forking shirtballs. These kids were INVESTED. They scoured the Lost & Found, undoing all my hard work this morning on their quest to find this little guy. A couple observations. One: I think the color of the koala's butt is irrelevant. That's just his personal business. And I got tired of students asking me if I'd seen a blue-butted koala. Two: if these kids put the same effort into finding the koala as they did their own coats, we'd be in business.
Moving on.
My favorite find this morning is the majestic wolf hoodie. Followed by the obviously personalized WK hoodie that's missing the "Wade"? So confusing. We also had the usual performative band wear (Though it's normally Nirvana. I'll concede that MAYBE this kid listens to Pink Floyd.); a fourth grade Move-A-Thon T-shirt; a Washington Chess hoodie; what looks like an expensive Timberland jacket; a dolphin-themed beach sweatshirt that doesn't lie; a brand new Cat & Jack puppy zip up; someone's very large basketball windbreaker that's giving 80s vibes; some cool jeans?; what appear to be a replica pair of the Dr. Martins I wore in the 90s; a vintage Seahawks crewneck; Bambi and Thumper looking they didn't star in the world's most traumatizing Disney cartoon; and a very nice (and small) Columbia jacket.
Any takers? We have one week to go. Come take a looksie.
I'll be very conscientious to check for names on June 12 as I pack up these items, and anything I find will live in the office for a week until they close shop for the summer.
Cheers,
xoxo Sara, Your Lost & Found Liaison

1:20 to 2:20 p.m. (Promise-K - 2nd graders). Students are encouraged to wear their Move-A-Thon shirts for the day. Parents are welcome to attend, and we still need volunteers: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C094CA4A72AA7FEC70-64079693-field #/
π June 12: The epic End-of-the-Year Assembly will take place from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. in the cafeteria. This event is open to the public. The Wade King Junior and Morning Choir will perform. π June 12: Lost & Found D(onation)-Day: I will be double checking for name labels and packing up the Lost & Found for donation after school. If I find any labeled items, the office will reach out to those families. Otherwise, it's sayonara to this year's mountain of stuff.
π June 12: The Wade King Choir will sing the National Anthem at the Bellingham Bells vs. Portland Pickles game. Wade King community members receive $5 tickets with a special code. Interested? Visit www.wadekingpto.org, and check out the Choir page for more details.
