We're proud to share that PeaceHealth St. Joseph has successfully completed its triannual Adult Level II Trauma Designation survey—affirming its vital role in delivering advanced, lifesaving care across Northwest Washington. As one of just seven Level II trauma centers in the state, St. Joseph provides 24/7 specialized care to more than 3,000 patients each year across Whatcom, San Juan, Skagit and Island counties.
Surveyors from the Washington Department of Health praised the team’s preparedness, strong leadership, continuous improvements and commitment to education, innovation and community partnerships—including enhancements like a Trauma Nurse Coordinator role and outstanding trauma registry program.
Join us in congratulating the amazing St. Joseph team on this achievement!

A shout-out to our colleagues on the Stroke and Trauma teams at PeaceHealth St. Joseph for representing us at the Barkley Safety Fair last weekend! The fair kicks off the summer season with safety awareness information, bike helmet fittings, fire truck tours and other family fun. Our caregivers gave away fun swag and important safety information and taught about bike safety, pediatric window falls, concussion and signs of stroke. Thanks, teams!
