Brigadoon Service Dogs

Over the years, the Order of the Eastern Star Washington Chapter has left a lasting mark on Brigadoon—in more ways than one. 💛🐾

Through their generous support, they’ve had the opportunity to name four Brigadoon dogs: Benjamin, Sparkle, Star, and Searra.

Each of those names represents a unique dog, a different journey, and another chapter in Brigadoon’s mission.

This year, we are especially honored to have the Order of the Eastern Star Washington Chapter serving as the presenting sponsor of Paws to Celebrate.

We are honored to announce that Melissa and Whatcom County Courthouse facility dog Davie will be featured at this year’s Paws to Celebrate gala. 💛🐾

Melissa and Davie graduated from Brigadoon’s program in 2020. During the gala, guests will have the opportunity to hear firsthand about the role of a facility dog and the impact Davie has had in the lives of many.

We are incredibly grateful to Melissa for being willing to share her and Davie’s story.

Last week, Louie headed to the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium as part of his advanced training!

Trips like this give our dogs the chance to experience all kinds of new sights, sounds, smells, and distractions while practicing the skills they’ll need as future service dogs. And with unusual animals, excited visitors, and plenty going on around him, the zoo certainly delivered!
