Apologies for those of you who've seen this on my personal page.

Some of you know that at the beginning of the year I started after-hours training as an Expedia vacation consultant attached to the Bellingham Expedia Cruise Center in Barkley Village. Looking ahead a few years toward retirement, Catrina and I would like to parlay our travel experience into assisting all of you with your travel planning.

I'm about a 1/3 of the way through my Expedia certification and I'm at the point now of launching my personal Expedia web portal and announcing my coming out as a consultant. I personally love bargain travel and I pride myself on finding the best values so I'll be publishing "Johnny's Cruise Picks" on my web portal with my monthly research results for the best value travel. I'm starting with 10-21 day cruises for now and I'll eventually add land tours.

If you love to eat (and drink), both Norwegian and Celebrity are offering free drink packages this cruise season on Alaska cruises with prices starting < $1000 per person. Norwegian is even offering free drinks with inside cabins. Celebrity has free drinks on outside cabins and above. Prices are cheaper on one-way cruises if you want to spend some extra time in Alaska, but the round trips from Seattle or Vancouver save you the cost and hassle of flying.

We booked our flights to Europe for next September, Vancouver to Paris on Westjet, $465 USD R/T! It will be our first ride on a 787. Also Catrina and I will be hosting our first gig as Expedia Cruise Ship Centers travel consultants. We're putting together an escorted 1 week tour of Sicily combined with a Venice to Dubrovnik and Greek Islands cruise. Stayed tuned for details.

We are heading back home after another amazing trip to Sicily. This year's trip included a family wedding complete with fireworks and one of my favorite pizzas ever. It was a normal Diavola with spicy salami, but finished off "burata". Two big balls of buffala mozzarella are plopped on top after the pizza is cooked. We enjoyed this at il gabbiano restaurant in Cefalu'.

If you've got the time, cruising all the way to Italy on a Spring transatlantic is an inexpensive and relaxing way to go jet-lag free. We did it this year and had a blast. The cruises start at around $600 for two weeks and it costs about $200 for air fare to Florida and another $600 to fly back home to Seattle or Vancouver via London or Frankfurt. Mark you calendars for May 2013 for the first Nona Rosa's 3 week Mediterranean cruise and tour of Sicily. John and Catrina will host 10 people on our favorite itinerary including an overnight in London to see a west end show, a two week cruise and then a week exploring the beauty and ancient wonders of Sicily. We're shooting to do the entire 3 week trip including Italian lessons, air, hotel, cruise, trip insurance and most of your meals for $3500! Let us know if you're interested.
