I don’t wake up at 4 AM. I’m not built like that. Here’s what works instead. There’s a whole corner of Fitness Instagram dedicated to 4 AM warriors and “while you were sleeping grind culture.” I’m 42, I run a gym, and I’m here to tell you that’s not the only way. My anchor: 6 AM class at Structure Fitness my workout right after. 7 AM Monday, Wednesday and Friday same time every week. The hours aren’t extreme. The consistency is. But I’ve learned coaching women every life stage: you can have any anchor time you want 7 AM, noon, 6 PM doesn’t matter. What matters is that it’s the same time, the same days, treated like an appointment you don’t reschedule. So forget what the 4 AM crowd is doing find YOUR hour. Protect it like everything depends on it. Because everything kind of does. When could yours be?
Is it too late to start lifting in your 40s? No. Not even close. The women I work with who started in their 40s and 50s are some of the strongest clients I’ve ever coached.
