✨ Feeling incredibly honored and grateful to officially step into the role of Community Liaison with the American Indian Community Council (AICC) ✨
AICC is a nonprofit organization serving the American Indian and Alaska Native community throughout Los Angeles County through wellness, education, and community engagement initiatives, and I’ve already learned so much through their monthly gatherings and community programming.
This year, I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the 2nd Annual Southern California Indigenous Cultural Arts Festival on April 18, 2026 in Escondido alongside Laura Escobar. I’m especially thankful to have met Elizabeth Fasthorse, who was familiar with AICC, Pilialoha Kilohana, and Johnny Bear Contreras from the Eyaay Ahuun Foundation. I was also honored to photograph Chuck, one of the dancers featured in the beautiful cultural programming, and meet Paul, owner of Kumeyaay Frybread.
These moments reminded me how important community, culture, food, art, and storytelling truly are.
Thank you AICC for the warm welcome and for continuing to create spaces that uplift Indigenous voices, leadership, and connection throughout Southern California 💛
